## Fix: Secret key may be exposed in browser code
Area: Security & privacy
File: src/lib/supabase.ts:4

A Supabase service role key appears in code that runs in the browser. Anyone visiting your app could read it and get full access to your database.

1. Move the key to a server-side environment variable.
2. Use the public anon key in browser code instead.
3. Rotate the old key in your Supabase dashboard.
4. Scan again to confirm.

How it works

From your repo to a higher readiness score, in three steps.

1
Step 1

Connect GitHub

Pick the repository your app lives in. VibeCheck only reads it, and never changes your code.

2
Step 2

Complete guided checks

VibeCheck scans your code, then walks you through a short checklist for things a scan can’t see, like backups.

3
Step 3

Export fixes and rescan

Copy the fixes into your AI coding tool, let it make the changes, then scan again to see your score go up.

Then rescan and repeat until you’re ready.

What your results will look like

How to fix
  1. Run each page through Google PageSpeed Insights (free).
  2. Paste any red results into your AI tool and ask it to fix them.
  3. Tick each page off in your checklist.

From finding to fix

Every issue is explained in plain English: what we found, why it matters and where it is. When you’re ready, export the fix as Markdown for your AI coding agent.

When can I use VibeCheck?

We’re planning to launch in early 2027. Join the waitlist and we’ll email you when it’s ready.

Which apps does it work with?

At launch, JavaScript or TypeScript React apps on GitHub, including ones built with Vite, Next.js or TanStack Start. Lovable apps, for example, are built this way. Things a code scan can’t see, like your hosting or database settings, are covered by the guided checklist.

What access does it need to my code?

Read-only access to the GitHub repository you choose. VibeCheck never changes your code.

What can’t it check?

It looks for common launch risks, not every possible problem. Some checks rely on your own answers to the checklist. It can’t guarantee your app is secure or ready to launch.

How do the fixes work?

Each issue comes with plain-English steps and a Markdown version for your AI coding tool. Paste it in, let your tool make the change, then rescan to confirm it’s fixed.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Everything is explained in plain English, and your AI coding tool makes the changes.
